Headquartered in İstanbul, Ericsson works as one Market Unit in Turkey, Israel and Palestine. With more than 350 employees, Ericsson works in close relationship with Avea, Tellcom, Turkcell, Turkish Telecom and Vodafone as well as providing service in Turkish Republics with Fintur.

L.M. Ericsson that is active in Turkey for 118 years has installed the first telephone exchange in Dolmabahçe Palace in 1890. Ericsson, the first %100 foreign capital company in Turkey, opened its İzmir Exchange Station with the capacity to serve 2416 subscribers in 1925. Today Ericsson provides service to all operators in Turkey as well as taking place in many projects world-wide like Turkic Republics, Israel and Palestine.

Ericsson Mobility World founded in 2001, has exported solutions developed by local companies to world-wide. Mobility World has been awarded “Best New Service” in London. Continuing its R&D activities with Expert Center in Istanbul serving CEMA region countries, Ericsson opens its third IMS Center in Turkey again. Ericsson with corporation with Israel Ministry of Industry & Trade and Tübitak generated R&D Corporation in IT area between Turkey and Israel with EUREKA initiative.

In 2009, Ericsson acquired 100 percent of the shares of Bizitek, a leading Turkish system integrator of business support systems. With this acquisition, Ericsson strengthened its local R&D force as well as its leadership in the field of systems integration.

In 2010, Ericsson Turkey opened its R&D center in 2 different locations with 3 offices. Ericsson Turkey employs 534 people in İstanbul headquarters and Bizitek office.

Social Responsibility

Ericsson Turkey started “Girls of Information Society Project” in 2004 that covers female students studying in Faculties of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of universities in Ankara and Istanbul. Comprehensive telecommunications training and scholarship is provided to 120 students by Ericsson in scope of Crea Academy program that started in 2007.

In 2002, Ericsson Response Project; a faster and more effective response to disasters; has been established in Turkey. In 2004 earthquake Iran, Ericsson installed Emergency Communications System with the capacity of 5.000 people to the area in 24 hours.

Ericsson has supported many social responsibility projects in the area of culture and art like Bodrum Antique City Wall Restoration and Magnesia Excavation that lasted for 5 years.

Networks

Network infrastructure is what provides the fundamentals so that people can communicate. To bring faster, more reliable and cost-efficient networks to the world is what we do best. What previously took minutes to accomplish, e.g. downloading a song, now takes a few seconds. Networks develops and provides the technology that makes this progress possible. Ericsson pushed development of 2G and 3G.
