QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Objectives

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Coordinator/Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of a safe and environmentally responsible working environment within a VSD (Variable Speed Drive) manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Duties

- HSE Policy Development and Implementation:

*Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices.

*Ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with the HSE policies and procedures.

*Regularly review and update HSE policies to address emerging risks and changing regulations.

- Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:

*Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.

*Implement measures to eliminate or mitigate identified risks, ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.

*Regularly review and update risk assessments to account for changes in processes, equipment, or working conditions.

- Training and Awareness:

*Develop and deliver HSE training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and environmental stewardship.

*Promote a culture of HSE awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

*Provide guidance and support to employees on HSE-related matters, including incident reporting and investigation.

-Compliance and Reporting:

*Ensure compliance with relevant HSE regulations, standards, and permits.

*Keep abreast of changes in HSE legislation and communicate updates to the organization.

*Prepare and submit HSE reports to regulatory agencies as required.

 -Incident Management and Investigation:

*Lead and coordinate the investigation of HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses.

*Identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and monitor their effectiveness.

*Maintain incident records and analyze trends to prevent future occurrences.

 -Environmental Management:

*Develop and implement environmental management programs to minimize the facility's impact on the environment.

*Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and permits.

*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement sustainable practices and initiatives.


Quality Assurance:

*Collaborate with the Quality Manager to establish and maintain quality control processes and procedures.

*Ensure compliance with quality standards and certifications, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.

*Investigate and address any production-related quality issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

 Health and Safety:

*Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and guidelines within the production area.

*Promote a safety-conscious culture and implement measures to mitigate workplace hazards.

*Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.


HSE Duties:

*Know, understand and implement HSEQ Management System policy and other policies related to the Management System, and identify the application of these policies in his/her work area.

*Pose suggestions regarding opportunities for improvement, which are evident in his/her activities and affect the HSEQ management system.

*Take precautions and preventive action against activities that might cause an incident affecting his/her own health, the health of other workers, the community or the environment.

*Timely report all incidents, accidents, and illnesses taking place during the development of his/her activities and involving people, the environment and/or assets of the Organization.

*Undergo medical check-in compliance with medically accepted standards to adequately perform his/her duties.


 Competencies:

*Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications in HSE are a plus.

*Proven experience as an HSE Specialist in a manufacturing environment, preferably in panel building, energy sectors.

*In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards including ISO, and best practices.

*Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing control measures.

*Strong understanding of incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.

*Excellent communication and training skills.

*Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.

*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

*Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

*Minimum Class B occupational safety certificate.

*Excellent written and oral communication skills (English&Turkish).
