QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
About Us
This role will be located at the Head Office of MNG Orko Madencilik in Ankara, Turkey. This position consists of being responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of geological models and resource estimates that underpin our mining operations. Reporting to the Resource Manager, the Resource Geologist will providehigh-level geological expertise to support mine planning, resource development, and grade control. Their work will directly impact the economic viability and long-term planning of the mine.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and validate 3D geological models for the gold deposit using industry-standard software,
- Conduct grade estimation, geostatistical analysis, and block modelling to provide accurate resource estimates,
- Ensure model reporting and reconciliation,
- Manage geological data collection from drilling, sampling, and mapping programs,
- Ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of geological data for accurate resource modelling,
- Supervise data entry into geological databases and ensure up-to-date records,
- Design and manage drilling programs for resource delineation and expansion,
- Provide geological oversight during drilling, ensuring core logging and sampling meet best-practice standards,
- Prepare and review resource estimation reports, adhering to regulatory frameworks such as NI 43-101 or JORC standards,
- Collaborate in the preparation of feasibility studies, life-of-mine plans, and other technical documents,
- Ensure that resource estimation and exploration activities comply with industry regulations and environmental standards,
- Implement QA/QC protocols to maintain the accuracy and reliability of resource data,
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and field staff,
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between geological, mining, and processing activities,
- Communicate resource estimates, exploration progress, and geological findings to senior management and external stakeholders,
- Demonstrate personal commitment regarding safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or an equivalent field (Postgraduate qualification preferred),
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mineral resource estimation and geological modeling,
- Strong knowledge of grade control, mining techniques, and geological processes,
- Hands-on experience in advanced geostatistics and 3D orebody modeling,
- Proficiency in mining software such as Datamine, Leapfrog (preferred), and Snowden Supervisor,
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in spoken and written English,
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
