The Mott MacDonald Group has been working in Turkey almost continuously since 1972. Both Sir M MacDonald & Partners and Mott, Hay & Anderson (who amalgamated in 1989 to form the Mott MacDonald Group) have undertaken work there. In recent years this has been via a locally registered company, Mott MacDonald T Danışmanlık Mühendislik Limited Şirketi (established in 2010), in Istanbul, specialising in the consultancy services in country’s transport, health, education, power, water sectors.
Candidate Specification - Degree in civil engineering is essential;
- Master of Science degree in transportation engineering is preferred
- Experience of working in highway design including local KGM standards as well as international standards;
- Regional and/or international 3-5 years of experience in design, contract administration and site supervision on highway projects;
- Experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the transportation sector is preferred;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English and Turkish), with excellent report writing, analytical and computer skills;
- Experience in proposal preparation in both English and Turkish is essential;
- Experience of working with local and international counterpart staff;
- Good understanding and experience of quality assurance;
- Good numerical and commercial skills. Candidates will be expected to certify that work is completed against the contract requirements;
- Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required;
- Commercial awareness, financial and technical reporting ability;
- Ability to assist in the development of the business;
- Knowledge of contracts and procurement.

Job Description: We are seeking a Transportation Engineer up to 5 years of experience to work within our Istanbul office. The successful candidate will enjoy the variety of work we are able to offer and also benefit from the positive training support that we can provide. The focus of the role is construction monitoring focusing on transportation projects, mainly highways. As a construction monitoring engineer, the key elements of the role include:
- Represent Mott MacDonald on site;
- Determine the progress of contractors' works and ensure material specifications, workmanship and quality control for all works are in compliance with the contract requirement and regulations;
