The primary duties of a Mud Logging Geologist consist of:

-          Real time monitoring of drilling activity at the rig site

-          Collecting geological samples and basic analysis at the rig site

-          Basic interpretation of drilling data

-          Contributing to maintain a safe working environment on the rig by interpreting the data at hand and giving feedback to other people at the rig site.

-          Lending onsite technical support in case of equipment failure

-          Having a pro-active attitude towards the health and safety aspect of the job

-          Creating special logs and written reports for client

The Requirements:

-          A university degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geophysical Engineering, Geological Engineering or Mining Engineering.

-         Fluent in English (both written and verbal) however, skills in other languages highly preferable as well beside English.

-          Good computer skills. Able to use MS Office programs and deal with software systems

-          Good mathematical background and analytical thinking

-          High communication skills

-          To be able to deal with the difficult and challenging working environment of the oil and gas industry

-          Team worker

-          Good manner towards QHSE
