QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing all construction-related activities under the contract, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, and to a high-quality standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Take a proactive stance on HSE initiatives and best practices.
  • Ensure safe execution of all project phases and activities.
  • Uphold and enforce health and safety compliance.
  • Oversee facility installations following both company and international standards within project timelines while maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Provide leadership and structure to the construction team, ensuring alignment with workforce development and nationalization strategies.
  • Ensure that construction work and deliverables meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Develop and optimize construction procedures and methodologies.
  • Guarantee high-quality execution of construction tasks.
  • Support construction planning and contribute to the creation of accurate and timely progress reports.
  • Manage the construction workforce, including resource planning and workforce allocation, ensuring the team meets project demands.
  • Assign personnel to specific projects and business units based on expertise and project needs.
  • Act as the primary interface between the construction team and the client.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Oversee resource allocation and workforce management.
  • Provide visible leadership and active engagement on-site.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Min. 15 years of experience in civil and structural construction supervision, with a focus on petrochemical or similar projects. Proven experience in a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) environment is highly desirable. Background in Oil & Gas or Chemical Industry disciplines.
  • Extensive knowledge of project construction procedures and methodologies.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Degree in an engineering-related field.
  • Strong focus on project delivery while maintaining high HSE standards.
  • Deep understanding of the construction process, including execution and management.
  • Experience in team leadership and workforce management.
  • Ability to train and mentor construction personnel, fostering skills development.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with management and client representatives at all levels.
