QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
General Call for UNV Opportunities in Human Resources (HR)
Join the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) in the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia!
The UN Volunteers (UNV) is launching a general application call forcandidates with disabilities interested in Human Resources (HR) roles within variousUnited Nations (UN) agencies in Türkiye.
Please note: UNV assignments are volunteer roles andnot employment. The allowances provided are intended to support living expenses, not as compensation, rewards, or salaries.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the United Nations’ global mission while gaining experience ininclusive HR practices and workforce development.
Key Responsibilities
As an HR, you may be assigned tasks such as:
HR Administration & Policy Support
- Assist in the administration and execution of HR processes and policies.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Support the HR business processes and assist with the implementation of HR systems.
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
- Assist with recruitment processes, including vacancy postings, screening, and shortlisting.
- Support in organizing interviews, assessments, and selection procedures.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation sessions for new staff and volunteers.
HR Data & Compliance Management
- Develop and maintain HR-related databases and documentation systems.
- Assist in record-keeping and compliance with UN HR regulations and policies.
- Support in tracking HR statistics, workforce data, and diversity metrics.
HR Communication & Engagement
- Assist in HR-related communication efforts, including drafting internal communications and reports.
- Support the organization of HR training sessions, workshops, and events.
- Engage in employee relations and well-being initiatives to promote inclusion and diversity.
Additional HR-related administrative tasks may be assigned based on office needs.
Who Can Apply?

- Turkish nationals or legal residents of Türkiye.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English (Turkish or other languages are an asset).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Human Resources or related fields.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of HR administration and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with modern web-based ERP systems (Workday or similar is desirable).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively in a multicultural setting.
