Import Operations Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are a foreign trade company and looking for an Import Operations Specialist having following qualifications:

• Preferably a university graduate from the department of International Trade, Foreign Trade, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering or Business Administration.
• Fluency in English in both written & spoken.

• Have knowledge of the customs requirements for import operations with at least 2 years experience.
• Experience with foreign trade transactions, inventory control and management.
• Experience in cost calculations and import planning.
• Experience with customs documentation, knowledge of international trade terms and requirements.
• Preferably using SAP program.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
• An analytical mind with result oriented work style.
• Ability to self-manage and to take responsibility.
• Energetic and good communicator.
• Strong time management skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Managing all import operations and documentation.
• Overseeing the entire import process from the planning stage until the delivery of the goods in the warehouse.
• Doing price research with existing and potential suppliers, preparing contracts.
• Communicating with the international suppliers, monitoring and reporting on the performance of suppliers.
• Maintaining communications with the third party logistics providers such as customs clearance agents, freight forwarders, suppliers.
• Closely following up on customs and foreign trade legislations and requirements for importing goods into Turkey.
• Initiating the export processes – creating and acquiring related export documents.
• Calculating and reporting the cost of the completed import files by entering the cost items into the ERP program.
• Preparing detailed reports on customs, suppliers and import processes in certain periods.
• To make the requested preliminary cost studies.
• Preparing active import status reports and payment reports in certain periods and forwarding them to the relevant units.
• Up-to-date stock follow-up and planning of orders according to needs.
• Monitoring and reporting of changes and updates in customs legislation.
• Following the entire post-order process and informing the customer in proforma sales made directly from the supplier to the customer.
